‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Lani Hides The Truth About Her Withdrawal From JJ
She was forced to overdose on a new drug making its way through Salem when the pimp/dealer she was trying to arrest figured out she was a cop. But now, as she suffers through withdrawal from the highly addictive drug, Lani will try hiding the truth about her condition from JJ on the Tuesday, May 9 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”
Lani (Sal Stowers) and JJ (Casey Moss) had been asked on the NBC soap to find a way to arrest Snake, a known pimp and dealer who was believed to be connected to the mysterious disappearances of several women. Lani had insisted that she go undercover as a prostitute who was hoping to become one of his girls, and continued acting out even when JJ asked her to drop the pursuit. Her second time going to Snake however ended badly, as he figured out she was a cop wearing a wire and forced her to take three doses of halo. She was rescued in time to get to the hospital, but now is suffering as the drug exits her system.
In a short time span, Lani has had a total of four doses of the drug in her system. The first dose came after her first meeting with Snake in his hotel room, when he slipped it into her drink. She later woke up in the Salem park, bloodied, with torn clothes, and no idea how she got there. A test at the hospital revealed she hadn’t been sexually assaulted, but she did test positive for Halo, which could cause erratic behavior.
The other doses came after she refused to drop the case and lied to JJ and Abe (James Reynolds) about doing so. She partnered with Raines (Aaron D. Spears) when she went to see Snake the second time, but also defied orders there when Raines told her to get out. Lani refused to comply and her questions made Snake suspicious. He then realized the truth and she was forced to take the three doses at once.

Now as she begins experiencing withdrawal from the drug, Lani will find herself only craving more and more of it, despite knowing the dangers. However, knowing she can’t tell anyone who loves and cares about her, she will hide the fact that she wants more, in the hopes that they will all not only believe she is okay, but that it will get her released from the hospital sooner. And if she is out of the hospital, she has a better chance of tracking more Halo down, though she’ll need to make sure she keeps everything a secret from JJ and the rest, or she’ll never be able to get the fix she is now desperately craving. However, in order to be successful with that plan, she needs to convince everyone that while the withdrawal is difficult to get through, she is successfully clearing the drug, and the desire to now get it willingly, out of her system.
“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
