He warned them that if they tried to outsmart him and be together he would hand his blackmail over to the cops. Now, Leo has made good on his promise, and as a result, Sonny and Will’s freedom could be on the line on the Wednesday, Feb. 20 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

After they worked with Gabi (Camila Banus) so they could have a romantic Valentine’s Day together, Leo (Greg Rikaart) got revenge on Sonny (Freddie Smith) and Will (Chandler Massey) by calling the cops and accusing the two men of attempted murder, before handing over his envelope of photographic evidence on the NBC soap. Though Sonny and Will know they didn’t intentionally try to kill Leo the day they thought he died, the evidence against them is damning because they did try to cover up the crime. Now, unfortunately for them, they will have to face their secret as it threatens to thoroughly rip them apart for good.

“Eli (Lamon Archey) brings Sonny and Will into the police station for questioning,” spoilers reveal.

Now, as the two are forced to answer questions about what really happened that day, it will take everything they have to prove their own innocence—and try to make Leo go down as well. Not only is their chance at a future together on the line, but so is their ability to be dads to Arianna, who has already been through so much because of Gabi going to jail in the past and Will’s presumed death a few years earlier.

Of course, regardless of how their questioning goes, Leo won’t be entirely off the hook, especially after Marlena (Deidre Hall) gets wind of what he’s done to her grandson and the man he loves. When she sees him, she won’t hesitate to warn him that he’s messing with the wrong family.

“Marlena blasts Leo for lying about Sonny and Will,” spoilers reveal.

Of course, whether or not she blasts him for lying because she doesn’t know the whole story or she blasts him for embellishing what really happened, it may not matter in the end. Though Leo’s “death” was meant as self-defense, the fact that the two tried to cover it up doesn’t bode well for Sonny and Will. When the fact that Leo could also be John’s (Drake Hogestyn) son is thrown into the mix, it could mean even more complications for Marlena as well.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
