She couldn’t live with the guilt of what she believes she did last Mother’s Day and wrote goodbye letters to her husband and daughter before attempting to hang herself in her jail cell. Now, the race to try and revive Maggie and keep her alive will be on as Xander does everything he can to try and help her on the Tuesday, May 19 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) has been in prison for a short time on the NBC soap after the truth came out that she was the one who was responsible for the car accident that killed Adrienne (Judi Evans) on Mother’s Day last year. To add to her woes, she learned Sarah’s (Linsey Godfrey) baby also died that night, and her granddaughter was dead because of it as well. Though Sarah told her she forgives her for what happened, Maggie still couldn’t shake the guilt-and made a suicide attempt in her cell. Xander raced to the prison to try and stop her after Victor (John Aniston) read the note his wife sent him, but he appeared to be too late, as she was already unconscious from trying to hang herself. Now, Xander will do whatever he can to try and get Maggie back.

“Xander desperately attempts to revive Maggie,” spoilers reveal.

He may be able to get her back, as she may not have successfully ended her life, but whether or not that works to keep him in favor with Victor, or help him win back Sarah, remains to be seen.

As it turns out, though Maggie and her loved ones don’t know it yet, she actually isn’t responsible for the deaths after all—just like Will (Chandler Massey), who initially served time for the accident, she is also innocent. Zoey (Alysha Ochse) revealed to Rafe (Galen Gering) that Orpheus (George Del Hoyo) and Evan (Brock Kelley) actually chloroforms Maggie and had planned to kidnap her in order to get ransom money from Victor as part of a plot to kidnap David last Mother’s Day. After Orpheus caused the accident which ran Adrienne and Sarah off the road, he set it up to look like Maggie had been drinking and driving—which led to Xander and Victor assuming her guilt and trying to cover up the truth.

Bringing Maggie back will be more essential than ever after that reveal becomes more public knowledge, which will mean Xander will have to find a miracle if he wants to prove himself to everyone and find forgiveness for the things he’s done.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
