Summer may be getting started soon on “Days of Our Lives,” but the residents of Salem are taking the Memorial Day holiday off, meaning fans will have to wait until after the celebrations end to see how some big storylines will continue to play out.

According to the NBC programming schedule, “Days of Our Lives” will be pre-empted for coverage of the 2019 French Open. Beginning at noon, the network is changing their lineup in order to accommodate coverage of the famous annual tennis tournament. This coverage will start during the slots where “Days of Our Lives” airs, depending on the local market and where it airs there. Coverage is set to resume with normal programming at 3 p.m. with “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

Those interested in watching the French Open can tune in to watch potentially some of the hottest matches to take place during this year’s event, including Spain’s Rafael Nadal facing off against Germany’s Yannick Hanfmann and Serbia’s Novak Djkovic going up against Hubert Hurkacz of Poland.

For those interested in the women’s matches, some of the potential match-ups they might view are Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands and Pauline Parmentier of France, Simona Halep of Romania and Ajla Tomljanovic of Australia, Karolina Pliskova of Czechia and Lauren David of the United States, Petra Kvitova of Czechia and Sorana Cirstea (Romania) and Serena Williams of the United States and Vitalia Diatchenko of Russia.

New episodes of “Days of Our Lives,” “Access Live” and “Steve” will resume on Tuesday, May 28.

For the “DOOL” fans who can’t wait for the show’s return, the drama will certainly be back in swing quickly enough after the major reveal that Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) was, in fact, not herself, but Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) in disguise.

While that story may be taking a small backseat, among the spoilers of what fans can expect on May 28 are the attempts to try and see what can be done to help Will (Chandler Massey) as he tries to fight his brain tumor. According to spoilers, “Looking for answers, Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Rex (Kyle Lowder) go through his notes from his time working with Rolf (William Utay).”

For the rest of the week, stories seem to circle around Eve (Kassie DePaiva) and Jack (Matthew Ashford), Ben (Robert Scott Wilson), Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), Will and Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) and Brady (Eric Martsolf).

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
