On Feb. 6, Germany-based publisher Deep Silver announced beta sign-ups for its zombie survival massive online battle arena “Dead Island: Epidemic” are now open.

“Deep Silver takes the first ZOMBA (Zombie Online Multiplayer Battle Arena) to the next level: Zombie and MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) fans can now sign up for the Closed Beta of ‘Dead Island: Epidemic’ on the freshly re-launched website www.playdie.net and be part of the final stages of development,” Deep Silver posted on its site. “’Dead Island: Epidemic’ will pit three teams of players against each other in a desperate fight for survival. ‘Dead Island: Epidemic’ is a Free-to-Play PC title that will feature all the trademark elements that are part of a ‘Dead Island’ experience.”

Newly registered players can immediately join the 30,000 alpha testers and begin playing the title before the official start of the closed beta. New gamers will also receive exclusive in-game rewards as the beta continues. No official date for the beta has been released.

“Dead Island: Epidemic” is part of the “Dead Island” series. The original title launched in 2011 and a sequel, “Dead Island: Riptide” launched last year. The games are action RPG survival horror titles developed by Polish game developer Techland.
