Dead Man Comes To Life In His Coffin As Mourners Were Paying Their Final Respects At Funeral
A dead man, in his coffin as mourners were viewing his remains, came back to life at his funeral in Zimbabwe.
Brighton Dama Zanthe, 34, started to revive as mourners were viewing his body at the funeral at his home on May 6, reports New Zimbabwe. Zanthe, who had been on life support for two days at Gweru Provincial Hospital following a long illness, was released from the hospital on May 9 and was pronounced dead on May 13.
Speaking to a local newspaper, the Chronicle, Zanthe said he had no recollection of his revival. “This issue can be best told by people who came to my house to attend my funeral. I don’t know what happened and I only remember being on a life support system in hospital.” Zanthe said he’s had no ill effects since coming back from the dead and feels fine, notes New Zimbabwe.
Lot Gaka, Zanthe’s boss at a local transportation company, was the first to notice the body moving. Gaka said he saw Zanthe’s legs moving and said, “At first I could not believe my eyes but later realized that there was indeed some movements on the body as other mourners retreated in disbelief.”
According to New Zimbabwe, Gaka said, “Zanthe’s body had already been put in a coffin and people were preparing to conduct a body viewing procession so that his body could be taken to a mortuary. It was during the body-viewing procession that he ‘resurrected’.”
