Debby Ryan TikTok Trends On Twitter After Former Disney Star Jokingly References Meme
Disney Channel alum Debby Ryan gave a nod to a 2020 meme and President Trump's potential TikTok ban with her addition to the "#whatidwear challenge" on Monday night.
In the TikTok clip, Ryan showed herself in a variety of looks from her past roles in TV shows and movies, including Netflix's "Insatiable" (Patty Bladell), the Dylan and Cole Sprouse-led "The Suite Life on Deck" (Bailey Pickett/Princess Xaria), "Jessie" (Jessie Presott), and Disney Channel's TV movie "Radio Rebel" (Tara/Radio Rebel).
Ryan's "#whatidwear" TikTok, which is set to Curtis Waters' "Stunnin' (feat. Harm Franklin)," showcased what the actress believes each of the aforementioned characters would wear if they were going to Fashion Week.

After sharing the now-viral clip, which has been viewed over 27.6M times, many fans were entertained by the fact that the 27-year-old had given a nod to the meme about her "Radio Disney" character that had spread across TikTok and Twitter in April. At that time, millions of users had uploaded their own impersonations of Ryan's "shy" character looking up at a boy that she has a crush on. This resulted in some calling her the "worst shy looker."
Ryan also referenced President Trump's potential TikTok ban with just a few words in the caption. "the president said to make a tiktok...," she wrote, acknowledging the current administration's desire to prohibit users in the U.S. from using the short-video app due to its Chinese origins.
After releasing the TikTok video, the clip also began trending on Twitter on Tuesday, resulting in hundreds of fan reactions. Several of the most popular responses can be viewed below.
