Demi Lovato added a tattoo to her forearm in honor of her friend Thomas Trussell III, who died earlier this month. The singer warned the fans about drug abuse and addiction, hinting that the death of her friend may have been because of an overdose.

Lovato took to Instagram to share a black and white picture of her forearm that now has that tattoo of the letter “T.” “ A T for Tommy,” the singer wrote in the post and called him her “special angel.”

The tattoo was by Rafael Valdez, who Lovato thanked in the post. “Love you forever,” she wrote and tagged her late friend’s Instagram account. A permanent ink on her forearm should keep her friend in her memory forever.

Lovato also warned her fans about the dangers of drug abuse in her Instagram Story page. In her post, the singer said that she was “devastated” by the loss of her friend.

“Please hold your loved ones tight,” Lovato wrote. She also reminded her fans to tell their loved ones that they are special, to share their love with them, and to make sure they know that they are loved.

In another post, Lovato told her fans that addiction is “NO joke.” She hinted that her friend died because of addiction, which she called a “terrible disease.”

“I’m crushed and will always miss you,” Lovato wrote in her message. She also advised her friends by saying that if they or anyone they know is suffering for addiction, it is okay to ask for help.

Lovato has herself battled addiction, and she nearly died because of an overdose last year. She has been openly discussing her problem with this issue with her fans, and actively encouraging them to seek help if they too are struggling with the same problem.
