Demi Lovato Slams Taylor Swift For Donating $250K To Kesha, Even Though She Denies It
Rawr! The claws are out in a brand-new Taylor Swift battle. The pop diva has famously feuded with some of music’s hottest stars, including Katy Perry, but there may be bad blood between her and another singer: Demi Lovato. Lovato shaded Swift when she donated $250,00 to Kesha, who is waging a legal battle against a music producer she accused of rape.
“Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I’ll be impressed,” the 23-year-old wrote Sunday, seemingly taking aim at Swift. Not surprisingly, this didn’t sit well with Swift’s legion of fans. When one of them explained the “Heart Attack” singer was taking the focus away from helping Kesha and bringing attention to herself, Lovato went on a social media rampage.
"How the f--- am I making this about myself?” she said, according to Us Weekly. “At least I’m talking about it. Not everyone has 250k to just give to people. Would love to but I didn’t grow up with money and def haven’t made as much as her. At least I speak up about s--- that’s uncomfortable to talk about rather than trying to be politically correct 24/7.”
While it would seem to most that Lovato was annoyed with Swift’s actions, she denied they were in a feud. “There’s no ‘rivalry’ ” she continued. “I just give more f---s than other people and would rather start a dialogue ABOUT WOMEN COMING FORWARD ABOUT BEING RAPED than throw money at one person.”
Dr. Luke, the music producer who is accused of physically and mentally abusing Kesha, denied the allegations Monday. “I didn’t rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her. Kesha and I were friends for many years and she was like my little sister.”
Kesha, 28, is “blown away” by the support she received from fans and fellow celebrities, Us Weekly wrote in a different report Monday. “This was a horrible blow but she is going to keep fighting and she is absolutely blown away by the support from other artists and her fans,” an insider said.
