Day 2 of the Democratic debate 2019 was conspicuous for potential Democrat presidential candidates unleashing a blistering attack on President Donald Trump at least in the first 10 minutes.

Trump himself tweeted that the debate appeared “boring” to him.

Participating in their first primary debate, former Vice President Joe Biden said, “Donald Trump put us in a horrible situation.” Bernie Sanders called Trump a “pathological liar” and “a racist.” while Kamala Harris dubbed Trump’s signature tax cuts as a bonanza for “the top 1%.”

But Thursday night was in contrast to the previous night when 10 other Democratic candidates chose to focus on their respective policy visions than targeting the incumbent president.

In the Miami Democratic candidates, 2020 pitched their vision why American voters should vote for them.

Biden says he will restore the backbone of America

To quote Biden, “I’m going to lead this country because I think it’s important that we restore the soul of this nation. I think this President has ripped it out.’

Biden said Trump is the only President who has equated racist and white supremacist with ordinary decent people. “I’m secondly running for president because I think we need to restore the backbone of America.”

Bernie Sanders wondered why nothing has changed. In his words, nothing will change unless “we have the guts to take on Wall Street, the insurance industry, the pharmaceutical industry, the military-industrial complex, etc.”

The most remarkable people in the race

According to CNBC, candidates who impressed both post-debate polls, pundits and charmed the Miami debate included Kamala Harris, Julian Castro, Cory Booker as winners while losers in the debate appeared to be John Biden and Beto O’Rourke.

Kamala Harris attacked President Donald Trump and criticized his Trump’s immigration policy while flaying the Republican tax plan.

Her most memorable moment was targeting of Joe Biden over his track record on race while she recalled desegregation of school busing in her own childhood.

“There was a little girl in California who was part of the second class to integrate her public schools, and she was bused to school every day, and that little girl was me,” Harris said. She called Biden’s working with segregationist senators as “hurtful.”

As the frontrunner in the debate, Biden appeared reluctant in the debating fray. Biden also stopped giving answers abruptly at least once saying: “My time’s up. I’m sorry.”

Biden was noted for presenting some popular talking points for Democratic voters. But it needs to be seen whether Biden’s arguments with Kamala Harris on race could dent the support in public polls.
