Denise Rich's $65 million Penthouse Co-op Hits Market: Most Expensive New York Apartment Ever

If you weren't fortunate enough to snag the $332/month four-bedroom apartment in the Village, maybe you should consider songwriter Denise Rich's condo, which was recently put on the market for $65 million.

Rich--who has written songs for Celine Dion, Jessica Simpson and Diana Ross--put her Fifth Avenue penthouse for sale Friday, snagging the number one spot of New York's most expensive co-op.

The 12,000 square-foot apartment features a professional recording studio and a wrap-around terrace with views of Central Park and has paid host to Stevie Wonder and Celine Dion, among others.

Former Citigroup chairman Sandy Weill's penthouse previously occupied the top spot of New York's most expensive apartments. His 6,744 square foot apartment sold for $88 million last December.
