UPDATE: 7:20 p.m. EST — Besides the person who perished as a result of the mass shooting and the stabbing at the National Western Complex in Denver Saturday afternoon, six other people were taken to a Denver Health facility for treatment of their wounds. Three are listed in critical condition, and three are listed in serious condition, the facility reported through Twitter.

UPDATE: 5:35 p.m. EST — At least one person died in the wake of the mass shooting and the stabbing at the National Western Complex in Denver Saturday afternoon, according to the Denver Post. Local police are on alert in the area of the Denver Health facility where victims have been treated, as the facility reported via Twitter:

Denver police said there was a stabbing and series of shootings Saturday at a local indoor arena where a motorcycle show was scheduled to be held this weekend, the Denver Post reported.

The incidents happened around 12:48 p.m. MST (2:48 p.m. EST) at the Denver Coliseum. The Colorado Motorcycle Expo was being held at the venue, in the National Western Complex.

The Denver Police Department tweeted views from the scene shortly after the stabbing and shootings were reported. A reporter at the scene tweeted a photo of a man being placed in handcuffs and loaded into an ambulance, but it was not clear how or if he was involved in the incident.

Nine people were transported to area hospitals after the incident, the Denver Health Medical Center tweeted. One reporter tweeted the Mongols Motorcycle Club may have been involved in the incident.
