An In-Depth Look At ONE Championship's Ornate Titles

Singapore-based ONE Championship prides itself on being one of the most unique organizations in the mixed martial arts (MMA) industry and that includes its belts.

Designed not just to stand out from the competition, but to also present the regality and stature of being a division’s top athlete.

“Our belt is definitely one of the richest prizes in the world of mixed martial arts today. We make sure that the bearer of our championship title represents a prestigious piece that reflects the true value of martial arts,” said the promotion’s chief executive officer Victor Cui via Rappler.

The majestic ONE Championship title features a jewel-encrusted, hand-mounted gold-plated belt on a thick leather strap that has ten studs to secure it in place around the waist of a deserving champion.

At first glance, the title looks like it should be placed in a museum because of how beautiful it looks, but the finer details give it a touch fit for a king or queen with two rubies in place of the eye sockets of the two lions that seem to hold the “ONE” logo in place.

Compared to its peers, ONE Championship is making a case for its title to have the most intricate of designs to be featured on an MMA championship belt.

For as legendary and well-recognized the PRIDE FC title is, it lacks the eye-catching properties that the ONE Championship title belt has.

There was also a time when the UFC title was at risk of being labeled a generic MMA belt, but its updated belt, recognized as the “Legacy Championship” belt, puts it above that of PRIDE FC’s.

According to Fighters Only Magazine, the UFC's "Legacy Championship" will be uniquely customized to each champion’s country, weight class and number of title defenses, giving it a more personal touch.

It also recognizes the past champions of the UFC in that the eight flags of the first countries whose athletes held the title are represented as well.

However, ONE Championship’s imposingly royal look gives it an edge over the others.

One look at the title belt from ONE Championship and its holders can already hear a voice in their head screaming at the world to acknowledge them and recognize their great feats in the cage.
