'Destiny 2': Best Ways To Farm Dawning Ingredients

Players will need plenty of ingredients if they want to get those perfectly-rolled weapons for this year’s Dawning event.

Baking magic space cookies might take some time if done the traditional way, so players may want to pursue some quicker alternatives. Here are the best ways to farm for ingredients and loot for this year’s Dawning in “Destiny 2.”

Cookie Ingredients And Loot Boxes

After players finish the two quest chains from Zavala and Saint-14, they’ll be able to access and target-farm the different Dawning weapons from Eva via her gift boxes. This is the best way to get those Dawning weapons, but it will still require some effort.

Cookies require common and rare materials as well as some Essences of Dawning to bake. These will naturally drop over the course of regular gameplay, but they can be power-farmed for maximum cookie creation.

One of the best ways to get ingredients is farming Taken Thralls at the Thrallway in the Shattered Throne or the Shuro Chi boss fight in the Last Wish raid. Thralls will spawn infinitely at the Thrallway, and players can easily reset the Shuro Chi area to farm enemies indefinitely.

Alternatively, the loot cave entrance at the Grasp of Avarice dungeon is an excellent place to get copious amounts of Chitin Powder from the infinitely-spawning Hive enemies there.

Best Cookie Recipes

Since players will be able to get tons of Taken Butter or Chitin Powder from the aforementioned sources, it’ll be best to farm the enemies using weapons that match cookie recipes for these ingredients.

The Trinity Ghoul is arguably the best weapon to use when farming for ingredients because it has infinite ammo and a wide area of effect. Kills with this bow will also drop either Multifaceted Flavors or Electric Flavor. Use these in conjunction with Taken Butter and Chitin Powder for the following treats:

• Etheric Coldsnaps = Chitin Powder + Electric Flavor
• Strange Treats = Taken Butter + Electric Flavor
• Bright-Dusted Snowballs = Chitin Powder + Multifaceted Flavors

Spend a few minutes killing enemies in one of the areas mentioned above before returning to orbit. Craft whichever treats are most appropriate, then gift them all to either Variks, Xur, or Tess Everis to earn some loot boxes and other rewards.

Keep in mind that Essence of Dawning can only be farmed by completing playlist activities.
