'Destiny 2' Guide: Buffed Merciless Build For Solar Titans

"Destiny 2" players have started using the exotic Fusion Rifle Merciless more ever since it was buffed, and it's not hard to see why. Now that it doesn't lose its charge time reduction bonus every time it reloads, the gun has become much more useful across the board.

As of "Destiny 2" Season 19, Merciless has become a stellar Special Weapon of choice for many Guardians, and its power can only be pushed up even further with the right armor mods and class-related combos. The following is a Titan setup that makes use of one particular exotic armor piece to take Merciless to new heights.

Loadout

As many would've guessed by now, the Path of Burning Steps is the highlight of this build. When fully stacked, it grants a 40% bonus to Solar weapon damage, which stacks with things like Font of Might and Merciless' intrinsic Impetus perk.

Any weapon will do in the other vacant slots, though a Solar heavy weapon would be ideal for synergy with Font of Might.

Class Setup

For aspects, use Sol Invictus and Roaring Flames for easy and consistent mod procs, good damage and decent healing. Then, use the following fragments:

• Ember of Solace
• Ember of Singeing
• Ember of Benevolence
• Ember of Torches

One thing to note is that Radiant does not stack with the Firewalker perk from the armor piece. The latter will overtake the former once it reaches two stacks or more. Still, Radiant is useful for reaching that max Firewalker buff.

Armor Mods

• Elemental Charge
• Heavy Handed
• Font of Might
• Melee Wellmaker
• Firepower/Argent Ordnance

Heavy Handed'ssecondary effect generates ammo for Fusion Rifles whenever players defeat enemies while surrounded. It's not meant to be a source of infinite Merciless ammo, but it definitely helps with the weapon's ammo efficiency.

Firepower is good for applying Scorch stacks in tandem with Sunspots or other Solar Guardians. Meanwhile, Argent Ordnance helps buff damage when not using a Solar Rocket Launcher. Feel free to swap this out with something else, but keep in mind that High-Energy Fire will not stack with Path of Burning Steps.

This build is designed around keeping Firewalker and Merciless' Conserve Momentum active. As such, consider using other mods that help with Fusion Rifle ammo efficiency.
