‘Destiny 2’ Guide: Exploding Fist Striker Build For PvE
KEY POINTS
- The Severance Enclosure exotic chest piece is mandatory for this build
- Taking down stronger enemies will increase the effect of Severance Enclosure
- Any weapon that can boost melee damage is great for this build
The Striker subclass for the Titan thrives in melee combat, offering players decent survivability as well as overwhelming force in the form of empowered melee attacks, weapon buffs and extended Super durations.
While running around and punching enemies is satisfying on its own, Strikers can be taken to the next level with a very specific build that will let players clear entire rooms’ worth of weak enemies in one or two punches.
Here are the recommended skills, mods and equipment to transform the ordinary Striker into an absolute powerhouse in PvE content.
Mandatory Exotic
The most important part of this build is the Severance Enclosure exotic chest piece. It comes with the intrinsic perk Spheromatik Trigger, which causes all powered melee attacks to cause an explosion around the target. Finishers and powered melee kills on powerful targets increase the damage and radius of this effect.
This perk synergizes extremely well with bottom-tree Striker’s Knockout ability, which can be triggered by critically-wounding an enemy or by breaking their shields. Knockout counts as a powered melee ability, which means that every kill made while the skill is active can trigger Spheromatik Trigger.
However, Severance Enclosure’s perk does have a short cooldown of approximately 3-5 seconds.
Armor Mods
To really make this build shine, use the following armor mods:
- Heavy-handed
- Melee Wellmaker
- Elemental Charge
- Well of Ions
- Well of Striking
This setup will make each Arc elemental well generated by powered melee attacks to restore significantly more melee ability energy while increasing the strength of the player’s next melee attack. The melee damage buff from Knockout and Well of Ions is enough to one-shot even the big enemies like Ogres and Abominations or shielded ones like Wizards and Captains.
By maximizing the one-shot potential of each punch, players will enjoy the stronger Spheromatik Trigger effect more often and more reliably. Even if a target survives the Titan’s super punch, a follow-up Finisher will still proc the Severance Enclosure’s empowered blast.
Loadout Recommendations
A shotgun with One-Two Punch is highly recommended for this build as it can further increase the damage players can deal with a single melee attack. As for exotic weapons, players should pick their preferred ones, or those that best fit the content they’re doing.
This build works best in dungeons like Prophecy and the Pit of Heresy. Players can also find some success with this build in Nightfalls as well as certain raid encounters like the Conflux defense sections of the Vault of Glass.
