'Destiny 2' Guide: The Unseen Assassin Hunter Build
KEY POINTS
- Gyrfalcon's Hauberk boosts damage and survivability for Void Hunters
- Wish-Ender now has intrinsic Anti-Barrier for piercing shields
- Arbalest can down Guardians in one hit in the Crucible
The "Season of Plunder" update for "Destiny 2" introduced several new items, including one new exotic armor piece per Guardian class.
Hunters received the Gyrfalcon's Hauberk, an exotic chest piece that grants a number of strong bonuses when entering and exiting Invisibility. This is one of the rare cases where an exotic is good for PvE and PvP, as the Hauberk has amazing synergies for both game modes.
Here's one build that can be used seamlessly between the Crucible and the rest of "Destiny 2's" activities.
Recommended Exotics
The Gyrfalcon's Hauberk grants players a 35% damage boost for six seconds upon exiting Invisibility (15% for three seconds in PvP), and killing targets with Finishers bestows a Reserve Overshield, which activates whenever the Hunter dodges.
There are two exotic weapon choices here that synergize well with this exotic: Wish-Ender and Arbalest. The former leans more towards PvE, while the other can do well even in both game types.
Wish-Ender received several buffs, including an intrinsic Anti-Barrier property that lets it contend with PvE picks like Eriana's Vow. It's also great for one-shotting Cabal Phalanxes in content like the Duality dungeon.
Meanwhile, Arbalest benefits greatly from the damage increase from Gyrfalcon's Hauberk. It not only offers great PvE DPS, but it can also one-shot Guardians who are below five Resilience.
Make sure to bring a secondary weapon like a hand cannon, sidearm or SMG when fighting in the Crucible.
Mods and Class Setup
Vanishing Step and Stylish Executioner are recommended for easy access to Invisibility. Dodging or defeating Void-debuffed targets will make Hunters invisible, triggering Gyrfalcon's benefits along with the usual benefits of Void Invisibility.
Either of these aspects can be replaced by Trapper's Ambush if the fireteam needs more utility.
Fragments
- Echo of Undermining
- Echo of Obscurity
- Echo of Persistence
- Echo of Dilation
Obscurity can be replaced by any other fragment when playing PvP. The rest will allow players to become invisible more frequently for an extended duration.
Mods
- Utility Kickstart
- Elemental Ordnance (PvE only)
- Precision Charge
- High-Energy Fire
There's plenty of space here for players to experiment with. Using Kickstart mods from Stasis armor pieces is a good place to start for players who want more ability uptime. Alternatively, the usual Powerful Friends and Radiant Light combo is great for free stat boosts for PvP.
