Infiniti revealed its Q50 Eau Rouge, a design concept inspired by the Infiniti Q50 sports sedan and the Red Bull Racing RB9, at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit Tuesday morning.

The concept vehicle is a glimpse of Infiniti’s design ideas for sports-oriented cars, and according to Infiniti press relations, offered at the auto show to gauge fan and media reaction.

The Eau Rouge features a bespoke carbon fiber body, a hunkered stance, Formula One-inspired aerodynamics and a cockpit with a high-grip steering wheel.

"Q50 Eau Rouge hints at a design language that we could extend to potential future performance models,” Johan de Nysschen, president of Infiniti Motor Company Limited, said in a prepared statement. “If Infiniti decided to build a limited series of this vehicle, it would likely feature a power output of more than 500hp."

Other highlights of the Eau Rouge are the 21-inch lightweight forged alloy wheels and dual-exit exhaust sports system below a large integrated rear spoiler.

This year’s auto show marks Infiniti’s 25th anniversary of the Japanese company’s official brand announcement at the 1989 North American International Auto Show.
