‘Devious Maids’ Season 3 Spoilers: Fan Favorite Gets Stabbed; Find Out What Character Left In Episode 11 [RECAP]
Season 3 of “Devious Maids” might be winding down, but the drama is just starting to heat up. And fans of the Lifetime series could feel the temperature rise in episode 11 when “Terms of Endearment” kicked off with Rosie (Dania Ramirez) and Spence (Grant Show) baking cupcakes.
The former lovers were making sweet treats in honor of Miguel’s (Octavio Westwood) birthday. But the two took a break from licking the batter to lock lips in a seriously steamy scene. Their kiss, however, was interrupted when Rosie heard a knock at the door.
Ernesto (Cristian de la Fuente) surprises his beau, explaining his impromptu but lengthy, three-week trip to Mexico was over. When Spence finally left, (reluctantly) allowing the couple to catch up, Rosie’s first husband revealed that he was feeling a bit green over how much time his wife was spending with Spence.
“I don’t like you spending so much time with him,” Ernesto divulges his jealous ways, adding that he thinks Spence is “trying to weasel his way” back into her life. (And he’s right. Spence is trying so hard to win Rosie back!) But Rosie leaves that bit of information – including the kiss – out and makes the false promise to Ernesto that she has no feelings for her ex. Liar, liar!
Meanwhile, at the Powell household, Carmen (Roselyn Sanchez) learns just how much of a handful Deon is when she wakes up (with a full mustache) only to find Evelyn’s (Rebecca Wisocky) son snooping through her room.
“You’re supposed to punish him!” Carmen tells her boss when Evelyn gives Deon a trip to Disneyland instead of grounding him. But it’s later revealed that Evelyn finds it difficult to discipline Deon because her son Barrett (Chase Pearson) died shortly after she reprimanded him.
Carmen explains to her boss that the only way Deon can grow up to be a good person is if Evelyn teaches him right from wrong. That’s when Evelyn compliments her maid, telling her that she has a good maternal instinct. Next thing viewers see is Carmen retreating to her room and pulling out a photo of a baby. Um, does Carmen have a child we don’t know of?
Speaking of surprises, no one was more shocked in episode 11 than Marisol (Ana Ortiz) when she learned that Michael (Brett Cullen) and Olivia (Valerie Mahaffey) were dating.
“What the hell are you thinking? Olivia is deranged!” Marisol shouts before calling Michael out for being a hypocrite. Throughout Season 3, Michael hounded Taylor (Brianna Brown), suspecting her of having an affair. Meanwhile, he was the one sleeping behind her back.
But Marisol is less concerned with Michael’s infidelity and more worried about how destructive Olivia can be.
“She’s up to something,” Marisol says, implying Olivia had something to do with the death of Blanca (Naya Rivera).
“One day you’re going to regret saying that,” Michael barks back.
Marisol might have been suspicious of Olivia, but Jesse (Nathan Owens) was giving his employer the benefit of the doubt.
“Olivia didn’t kill anyone,” he tells Marisol who is snooping around Olivia’s apartment. “She has cancer.”
But Marisol smells something fishy about Olivia’s diagnoses. And that doubt eventually pays off when Jesse uncovers that Olivia is faking her caner.
“Olivia is sick alright. Just not with cancer,” Jesse says after uncovering a website frequently visited by Olivia titled "How to Fake Cancer."
So, Marisol tells Michael what she uncovered about his crazy ex, which prompts him to confront Olivia. “Get this through your sick twisted brain,” Michael says before dumping his ex for yet a second time.
Displeased that Marisol betrayed her, Olivia shows up to her foe’s house, sporting a knife in tow. That’s when Olivia explains that she might not have killed Blanca but she’s sure going to try to put Marisol six feet under..
“You just had to get involved, didn’t you?” Olivia says before swinging the knife. But instead of hitting Marisol, Olivia ends up slicing up Jesse’s fabulous abs.
After beginning his recovery process, Jesse reveals that he’s moving back to Seattle for some peace and quiet (which he clearly wasn't getting in Beverly Hills). However, he says that it wouldn’t be a far fetched idea if he and his “sexy scar” returned later down the line to pay Marisol a visit.
“I really hope you find what you’re looking for, Jesse,” Marisol says.
That statement could also be said for Ernesto’s current predicament. During his trip to Mexico, Ernesto spoke to his boss about what it would take to get him out of the cartel – and the answer? Katy (Grecia Merino). Apparently the cartel is looking for the little girl (the daughter of a man they killed), who is currently living with the Stappord family. But the hunt for Katy starts turning heads when Ernesto has his partner dress up like a clown for his son’s birthday. The disguise was so that Ernesto’s cohort could take a peek at the Stappord home without looking too suspicious.
But ultimately “Bobo” the clown blows it when Spence catches the funny man taking pictures of Katy’s room. This ends up resulting in a fight between the two before Ernesto joined the fight, getting the chance to hit Rosie’s ex a few times for fun.
Ultimate, Rosie tells Spence that she can no longer be friends with him, considering it would be too hard. But Spence warns her that he’s not going to stop trying.
As Rosie and Ernesto clean up the couch, which is now covered in blue icing, Rosie uncovers a blood stain under one of the cushions.
“I think something terrible happened in this room,” she says grimly. (You can say that again!)
And that wasn’t the only dark moment to occur in episode 11. Fans watched as the seemingly sweet Dr. Neff (John O’Hurley) sabotaged Zoila’s (Judy Reyes) career and friendship when he menacingly set up Genevieve’s (Susan Lucci) maid.
Dr. Neff has his trusty maid Joy (Joy Osmanski) convince Zoila that he was poor. This would cause Zoila to worry that he would be using Genevieve for her cash. So when Dr. Neff proposes to Genevieve, Zoila faked labor pains to get her friend out of a financial death trap.
But as it turns out, Dr. Neff is not poor. In fact, he’s far from. But he is conniving.
“You’re going to have to make a choice: it’s me or your maid,” he leaves her with an ultimatum. And can you guess who Genevieve chose? (Hint: She’s not a doctor.)
“Devious Maids” airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on Lifetime.
