Dick Clark Dead: 'World's Oldest Teenager' Found Lasting Love With Wife No. 3, Kari Wigton
Dick Clark died Wednesday of a heart attack at 82, and it was fitting that the man dubbed The World's Oldest Teenager found his first wife during his teenage years. But it was 20 years until Clark found lasting love with wife No. 3, Kari Clark.
Clark married childhood sweetheart Barbara Mallery, whom he met in high school, in 1952, according to Clark's IMDB page.
Clark's marriage to wife Barbara, which did not produce any children, lasted a little more than eight years before they divorced in 1961.
Clark married wife No. 2, Loretta Martin, the next year.
The couple had two children, Duane and Cindy. They divorced in March 1973.
Dick Clark eventually found lasting love in third wife Kari Clark, from their marriage in 1977 until his death.
The No. 7 was a theme of their wedding, and the number lived up to its lucky reputation through the couple's enduring bond.
Dick and Kari Clark were wed on July 7, 1977 (7/7/77) in a ceremony that started at 7 p.m., according to IMDB. The site pointed out that Dick Clark's post office box for his Burbank, Calif., address was No. 7777.
Clark rose to fame as host of the 1970s show American Bandstand and is best known to younger fans from decades of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve.
For the 2011 production of the New Year's extravaganza, Clark didn't let the effects of his 2004 stroke get in the way of his duties as he counted down to the new year.
Clark also planted a smooch on Kari to ring in 2011, the New York Daily News reported.
