'Dick Poop' Gets Oscar Nomination For 'Mr. Turner'; Watch Academy President Butcher Dick Pope's Name [VIDEO]

If Dick Pope was watching the Oscar nominations Thursday morning, he got a big surprise. Not only was he nominated for cinematography for “Mr. Turner,” but his last name had also been changed to “Poop.”
Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Cheryl Boone Isaacs announced Pope’s nomination, but she unfortunately made a John Travolta-like mistake and said “Dick Poop,” Huffington Post reports. At the 2014 Academy Awards, Travolta announced Idina Menzel singing “Let It Go.” However, Travolta introduced the “Frozen” actress as “Adele Dazeem.” Unlike Travolta’s mishap, Isaacs quickly noted her mispronunciation and corrected herself.
Pope’s name seemed like the easiest name to pronounce in the cinematography category. Isaacs made it through the other nominees without errors (at least none as noticeable as replacing a nominee’s last name with a word for excrement). Pope’s fellow nominees included Emmanuel Lubezki for “Birdman,” Robert D. Yeoman for “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” Lukasz Zal and Ryszard Lynzewski for “Ida” and Roger Deakins for “Unbroken.”

Unfortunately, the Internet didn’t care that she corrected herself. “Dick Poop” was a trending topic on Twitter, and users were feeling snarky after the mispronunciation.
Chris Pine deserves an Oscar of his own for not laughing at Dick Poop

It would be pretty crappy if Dick Poop didn't win an Oscar. Wait, what? It would be nice if Dick Pope won an Oscar.
