Did Anyone Win Monday's Powerball? Jan. 23 Winning Numbers And Wednesday's New Jackpot
After reaching the half-billion dollar mark, the Powerball jackpot will continue to climb after the Monday drawing did not result in a winner for the estimated $502 million jackpot with a $271.1 cash value million grand prize.
The winning numbers for Monday night's drawing were 12, 31, 47, 58, and 60, with a red Powerball of 23. The Power Play was 3X.
The next drawing will be held on Wednesday and is expected to reach $526 million with a $284 million cash option.
The jackpot was last won on Nov. 19, 2022, by a ticket-holder in Kansas who scored a $92.2 million grand prize.
Following the latest Powerball drawing, one player became an instant millionaire. A ticket holder from Virginia hit the Match 5 and won the second-tier prize of $1 million. If the player would have added the Power Play, they would have won $2 million.
Eleven ticket-holders won the Match 4 plus red Powerball and scored a $50,000 prize. However, seven players walked away with $150,000 after hitting the Match 4 plus the red Powerball and Power Play.
The latest lottery drawing comes as a $2.04 billion winning Powerball ticket has yet to be claimed. The ticket was won on Nov. 7, 2022, by a player in California. The cash value was $997.6 million.
Under state law, the player has one year from the drawing to claim their prize. When the winner comes forward, the world will know their identity. California law states the lottery must publicize the winner's full name and total winnings as public record.
Powerball jackpot winners can receive their prize through a lump sum payment or an annuity, which includes one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% each year.
The odds of winning the Powerball are 1 in 292,201,338.
