The Wednesday Powerball drawing did not result in a winner for the estimated $73 million jackpot with a cash value of $51.7 million. However, one player managed to become an instant millionaire.

Since the grand prize went unclaimed, the next drawing will take place on Saturday, Oct. 23, and the jackpot will climb to an estimated $86 million with a cash option of $60.9 million.

The winning lottery numbers drawn on Wednesday night were 7, 29, 36, 41, 43, with a red Powerball pull of 5. The PowerPlay was 2X.

Following the latest Powerball drawing, a player from North Carolina won $1 million by matching five numbers. Lottery participants that would have hit the Match 5 with the 2X Power Play could have won a $2 million prize.

Several smaller monetary prizes also resulted from the night. There were six players who managed to match four numbers plus the red Powerball, winning $50,000. However, only two players hit the Match 4 plus red Powerball with a 2X Power Play and won $100,000.

The rest of the monetary prizes from the night ranged between $4 and $200.

The latest Powerball drawing comes one week after a player from Massachusetts claimed a $1 million prize after matching five numbers in the Monday, Oct. 4, drawing. At the time, the jackpot was worth an estimated $699.8 million.

The winner, Victor Van of Haverhill, plans to put his prize money toward his education and help his family pay off their mortgage.

Lottery winners have up to one year to claim their prize. Powerball is played in 45 states, including Washington, D.C., as well as Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
