There was no grand prize winner in Saturday night's Powerball drawing, which means the jackpot will continue to balloon. Powerball players will be hoping for a post-Christmas Day gift, as Monday's jackpot will grow to an estimated $416 million and has a cash value of $299.5 million.

The winning lottery numbers drawn on Dec. 25 were 27, 29, 45, 55, 58, with a red Powerball of 2. The Power Play was 3X.

The last time there was a grand-prize winner was Oct. 4, when a California man took the $699.5 million jackpot. The biggest grand prize of 2021 was on Jan. 20 when the jackpot reached $731.1 million.

To become a Powerball jackpot winner, a player must match the six numbers to the drawn six-number combination. Five numbers need to be selected from 1 to 69 for the white balls, and a number is selected from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. The Powerball, which is played three times a week, costs $2 per play.

There were only six jackpot prizes in 2021. The smallest jackpot amount was $23.2 million.

Only six states that don't participate in state lotteries: Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada and Utah.
