The Powerball jackpot has climbed to $480 million after Saturday's drawing failed to produce a winner.

No one matched all six numbers for Saturday, Oct. 15, for the jackpot of $454 million. The upcoming jackpot will have a cash option of $242.2 million.

The winning lottery numbers drawn for Saturday were 32, 37, 40, 58, and 62, with a red Powerball of 15. The Powerplay was 5X.

There has not been a grand-prize winner since late July, when a player in Pennsylvania won the $206.9 million jackpot.

Two winners won the $494 million Mega Millions prize Friday night. It was the eleventh-largest jackpot in Mega Millions history. There had not been a winner since late July, when a player won a $1.337 billion prize, which was the second-largest prize in the game's history.

Powerball jackpot winners must match the six numbers on their ticket to the drawn six-number combination. Five numbers must be selected from 1 to 69 for the white balls, and a number is selected from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball.

There is a 1 in 292.2 million chance of winning the Powerball jackpot. Powerball drawings take place on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

While lotteries promote large-sum totals, actual winnings after taxes are slightly more than half of the total jackpot if you take the cash option. There is an option to receive winnings using an annuity plan over three decades.
