Did Anyone Win Wednesday’s Powerball? Jan. 12 Winning Numbers And Saturday’s Jackpot
There was no grand prize winner following Wednesday's Powerball drawing, which was worth an estimated $35.5 million with a cash value of $24.6 million.
The winning lottery numbers drawn on Wednesday, Jan. 12, were 12, 21, 22, 30, 33. The Powerball number was 24 with a Power Play 4X.
Since the latest jackpot has gone unclaimed, the next drawing will take place Saturday, Jan. 15. The jackpot will climb to an estimated $48 million with a cash payout of $33.3 million.
While there weren’t any grand prize winners following the latest lottery drawing, four players managed to become instant millionaires. Players from Florida, Kansas, and New York each hit the Match 5, winning $1 million apiece. One player from Indiana hit the Match 5 with a Power Play purchase and won a $2 million prize.
Aside from the night's instant millionaires, other players were able to win smaller monetary prizes. There were eight players who matched the four white ball numbers and the red Powerball, winning $50,000 each. Meanwhile, there were four players that hit the Match 4 plus the red Powerball, winning $200,000 with the Power Play purchase.
The rest of the prizes from the night ranged between $4 and $400.
The latest lottery drawing comes after a player from Iowa won $2 million from the Monday night Powerball drawing. The ticket was purchased at a Casey’s in New Hampton. The convenience store will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
To win the jackpot, a player must match the six numbers on their ticket to the drawn six-number combination. Five numbers must be selected from 1 to 69 for the white balls, and a number is selected from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball.
The Powerball costs $2 per play. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
