Did Brandy Throw Shade At Monica In Instagram Post About Whitney Houston?

It looks like the feud between Brandy and Monica is still on.

Brandy reportedly slyly took a jab at Monica after the latter shared her experience working and spending time with the late Whitney Houston. In an appearance on “Where Are They Now,” Monica recalled how Houston became someone who is like a fairy godmother to her. The singer said she went through rough times in her life, and it was Houston who was there for her when she needed help.

Brandy, however, appears to be negating Monica’s statement in an Instagram post. Sharing a photo of her and the late singer, Brandy said in the caption: “Everybody wanted what we had/have and I am blessed enough to have been your friend, #FairyGodDaughter and make history with you as my #FairyGodMother.”

Brandy continued: “And now you’re my angel. I wish that you were here in the physical to witness so much of my courage that you stayed on me about but I know you are watching and I know what you expect me to do. Our bond is unmatched.”

While it certainly looks like there is still some bad blood between the two, Monica maintains that she does not have ill feelings toward Brandy. During an appearance on “The Real,” Monica was asked to comment on what Brandy said when a fan told her to do the #SoGoneChallenge.

“I’ll tell you on ‘The Real,’ I’m not bothered at all. Honestly, the old me and the new me are two different things. This journey of self-progression and self-love and empowerment that I’m on, I can’t go backward. I think that was just a test from God for me,” said Monica.

Monica told Yahoo in 2012 that she and Brandy became friends because of their shared experiences. They even released a song together titled “It All Belongs To Me.” Meanwhile, Monica has yet to comment on Brandy’s post.
