Fox Sports broadcaster Erin Andrews insists that she didn’t have Justin Bieber on her mind on Tuesday night, despite the fact that she appeared to call Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander by the pop star’s name during an interview.

Andrews, 35, attempted to interview Boston Red Sox slugger Mike Napoli after his solo home run powered the team to a 1-0 victory over the Tigers in Game 3 of the ALCS. However, when she attempted ask Napoli about the last time that he homered off of Verlander, things got a little awkward.

The Fox Sports reporter seemed to start to say “Justin Bieber” before catching herself mid-word. The misstep was enough to draw a smirk from Napoli, who probably couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Still, Andrews insists that she wasn’t thinking of Bieber at the time, and never said his name.

When asked by one Twitter user if she “almost [said] Justin Bieber instead of Verlander,” Andrews quickly dismissed the notion. “My lord…people are unreal,” she wrote in response.

But Andrews didn’t stop there. She sent out another tweet in which she directly addressed the rumors of her alleged Bieber-related faux pas. “If u [sic] really think I have Bieber on my mind, then u are sooooo right #sarcasm,” Andrews wrote.

This isn’t the first time in recent days that Andrews has run into some trouble during a postgame interview. On Sunday night, Andrews was interviewing Red Sox catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia after a game-winning hit when his teammates hit her with an accidental Gatorade bath. To her credit, the 35-year-old shook it off like a true professional, and even posted photos of the aftermath on her social media accounts.
