Did JoJo Siwa Quit ‘Dance Moms’? Rumors Fly After Cast Releases Telling Photos
Another ALDC dancer may have twirled her way out of the building. Following the recent departure of Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler, rumors suggest that elite competition dancer JoJo Siwa may have also left Lifetime’s “Dance Moms.”
While JoJo, 13, and her mother, Jessalynn Siwa, have yet to confirm or deny the reports, the “Dance Moms” Season 6B cast hinted at the mother-daughter duo’s departure over social media this weekend. Jill Vertes was the first to reveal the Siwas were a no-show at the Sheer Talent competition in Spokane, Washington, on Saturday. “... and there there were 4!” she captioned a shot of the ALDC’s dressing room and a noticeably smaller number of makeup stands. Kira Girard also fueled the rumors, sharing this telling photo on Instagram Sunday.
If that wasn’t enough reason to cause buzz about the Siwa family’s potential departure, a picture of the “Dance Moms” weekly pyramid with only four headshots on display was also revealed.
Dancers Kalani Hilliker, Kendall Vertes, Brynn Rumfallo and Nia Frazier were present for the West Coast event over the weekend. “Dance Moms” spoilers indicate the girls competed in a contemporary number titled “Picnic.”
And while JoJo didn’t compete, she wasn’t taking a vacation. JoJo walked the runway at the Ladylike Foundation’s 2016 Women of Excellence Luncheon in Beverly Hills, California, Saturday. She posted a video of herself strutting her stuff on the catwalk in a floor-length gown, but the event wasn’t all about fashion — it was for a worthy cause. The luncheon was thrown to raise money for scholarships for inner-city women to go to college. JustJared reports JoJo was just one celebrity in attendance, as former “Dance Moms” star Asia Monet Ray, “America’s Got Talent” judge Mel B and “Scream Queens” actor Keke Palmer also made appearances.
JoJo and Jessalynn’s absence from filming comes one week after the duo failed to show up at the Fierce National Dance Competition in Calabasas, California, on May 28. Abby revealed the dancer was a no-show when she posted a shot of the elite junior team competing, writing, “These girls certainly were not at the pool today!” That same day, JoJo shared several photos and videos of herself swimming. JoJo’s failure to compete was rumored to have been a result of Abby’s decision to grant her a part in a contemporary ballet duet, though that has not been confirmed.
Let’s hope JoJo hasn’t hung up her dancing shoes just yet! The cast of “Dance Moms” is scheduled to appear at their next competition on June 12 in Upland, California.
Lifetime has not yet announced a premiere date for the second half of “Dance Moms” Season 6.
