Did Meghan Markle Encourage Prince Harry To Quit Smoking?
Prince Harry may have quit smoking due to his fiancée, Meghan Markle.
A source recently claimed that Prince Harry promised his soon to be wife that the will never smoke at home. “It’s not nice for Meghan as a non-smoker. So there’s no more hanging out of the window for a quick puff,” the insider said.
According to the Daily Mail, smoking is not allowed at Nottingham Cottage, but Prince Harry would typically bend the rules when there are parties. However, since Markle doesn’t smoke, Prince Harry won’t be allowed to smoke as well.
Prince Harry adjusting to his new no-smoking lifestyle is just a small change in his life. Markle, on the other hand, is expected to experience drastic changes in her life as a soon to be royal.
Royal expert Myka Meier told Glamour that one of the things Markle needs to do is to undergo extensive protocol training before attending every event. “When she meets representatives from foreign countries, she must know how to meet and greet them. Meghan will also need to learn things like how to curtsey,” she said.
Markle could no longer work as a commercial model or even as an actress because she is expected to be involved in all things royal the minute she marries Prince Harry.
The “Suits” alum could no longer sit down for interviews about her life without first consulting with the royal family. Her Vanity Fair interview earlier this year could be the last of its kind.
Markle will also become a patron of some charities or causes that she finds important. “These will be officially announced by the palace. In the beginning, she’ll be joined by Harry and perhaps Kate and/or Camilla to do charitable and state events. They’ll let her get used to royal protocol before sending her out to on her own to do events, walkabouts and speeches, which is similar to the Duchess of Cambridge’s experience,” she said.
Prince Harry and Markle are expected to tie the knot in May 2018. Markle is currently in Los Angeles with her mom, but she will return to London for the holidays.
