Did Prince Harry Ban Prince Charles’ Royal Aide From Organizing His Wedding Reception?
Prince Harry is rumored to have banned Prince Charles’ trusted aide, Michael Fawcett, from organizing his and Meghan Markle’s wedding reception.
According to the Daily Mail, Prince Charles encouraged his youngest son to seek the help of Fawcett months before his wedding, but he refused. “The Prince of Wales thinks Michael is a wonderful event’s organizer, but the suggestion has created tensions,” a source said.
The disagreement between Prince Charles and Prince Harry allegedly took place after the dad of two gave Fawcett more responsibilities. Prince Harry did not want to hire the services of Fawcett because the royal aide already resigned from his position in the royal household twice.
Fawcett will also be gaining control of the Prince’s Foundation, Prince Charles’ architectural charity. “The finance function has already been transferred to Dumfries House Trust,” the source said. Fawcett serves as executive director of the Dumfries House.
However, none of these claims have been confirmed. It is also unclear whether or not Prince Harry and Markle are already organizing their wedding reception since their wedding is still four months away. But the couple will most likely follow in the footsteps of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
In 2011, the couple’s evening reception at Buckingham Palace featured fireworks and live performances by Ellie Goulding. The lunch-time reception at the same venue catered to 650 guests and was hosted by Queen Elizabeth II for the couple.
Hours later, Prince William and Middleton’s closest family and friends that were limited to 300 guests attended their dinner reception that was hosted by Prince Charles. The gathering was held at the Kensington Palace.
The tables at the receptions were labeled with words or terms that are important to the couple. For instance, one table was called “Lewa” after Lewa Downs, according to the Telegraph.
Prince William and Middleton changed their clothes for the three receptions, and Prince Harry and Markle are also expected to do the same following their May 19 wedding.
