Did Princess Diana Really Love Prince Charles? Royal Fan Doesn’t Think So
Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ marriage failed, and multiple reports claimed that one of the reasons behind this was that Prince Charles didn’t really love Princess Diana. But did Princess Diana really love the future king?
On the online forum site Quora, one royal fan claimed that one of the biggest myths about the late Princess of Wales was that she loved Prince Charles. Hninzi Thet claimed that the reason why Princess Diana married Prince Charles was that he was a good catch.
“She was a spoiled, aristocratic brat, and felt entitled. She had this fairytale notion that once she was married, her husband would do as he is told and wait on her hand and foot,” he wrote.
However, celebrity trainer Jenni Rivett previously claimed that Princess Diana married Prince Charles for love and nothing else. She said that if Princess Diana was given the chance, should have stayed with Prince Charles because she loved him.
“It wasn’t her that asked for all of this… It was sprung on her. She wasn’t the one that wanted to separate or have a divorce,” she told Express.
Thet also said that another myth surrounding Princess Diana had to do with her controversial statement during an interview with Panorama. In 1995, she told Martin Bashir that her marriage to Prince Charles was crowded because there were three of them in the marriage.
But according to the royal fan, this couldn’t be the absolute truth because Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ marriage was much emptier than it was crowded.
Princess Diana and Prince Charles tied the knot in 1981, but they separated 11 years later. In 1996, the couple finalized their divorce following Queen Elizabeth II’s orders. It was reported that Her Majesty became visibly upset with Princess Diana after she gave an interview with Panorama.
At that time, Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom said that Prince Charles wasn’t fit to be King. This comment didn’t make the royal family happy.
