Did ‘Sister Wives’ Stars Meri And Kody Once Court An Underage Girl?

Plenty of scandal has surrounded the Brown family from “Sister Wives” over the years, but the latest news to be discovered about the polygamous family may be the most shocking yet.

According to Radar Online, a passage from the family’s 2012 book “Becoming Sister Wives: The Story of an Unconventional Marriage,” is being examined in a whole new light. In the memoir, Meri spoke of a woman who was supposed to become a sister wife but didn’t--while Christine admitted that this other woman was actually underage at the time.

In the book, Meri revealed all about a courtship when she and Kody first married that she had been excited about—until the woman decided to leave them behind, which devastated them.

“I was excited,” Meri wrote in the book. “She and I became close friends right away. This was unusual for me and I immediately took it as a sign that Kody and I were destined to marry her. This girl and I loved hanging out together and spent lots of time on our own without Kody.”

“I felt confident that the three of us had a wonderful future together and I was certain that while she would be a great wife to Kody, she would remain one of my best friends,” Meri added before discussing how devastating it was when the woman left.

“Back then we were all so young, she was only eighteen and Kody and I were in our first year of marriage—so we may have mistaken a crush for love,” she said. “Nevertheless, I felt personally betrayed. I had lost one of my closest friends, a woman I imagine would have been a perfect sister wife.”

Christine was the one who later revealed that the girl had been underage.

Meri’s comments about the woman being the perfect sister wife come after she’s had some strife with the ones she does have now. Fans already know she will have some tension with Christine in the current season of “Sister Wives” based on their interactions in the trailer, and she and Janelle have also been at odds for years.

Though there have never been issues reported on between Meri and Robyn, many have speculated the pair aren’t as close as they once were following Meri and Kody’s divorce and his remarriage to Robyn, making her his only legal wife.
