Tory Lanez has caused quite the buzz since he accused music video directors of colorism. Now, multiple people present for the alleged incident have spoken out to tell a different story. Here's a timeline of everything that has happened so far.

It all started when the Canadian rapper posted a behind-the-scenes video to his Instagram on Sunday. In the clip, Lanez is seen filming a music video with a dark-skinned female model before she is then swapped out for one with lighter-skin.

"This is an on-going problem in our community that needs to stop," the caption began. "As a black man, Sometimes I’m going to joke about the black community just like we all do. BUT WHAT IM NOT GOING TO DO IS ALLOW ANY OF THESE DIRECTORS TO DE-VALUE OUR BLACK WOMEN ... countless times I’ve seen directors swap out our women of color for women of lighter complexion, or women with straighter hair ETC . ... IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY AS ARTIST TO STAND UP AND NOT LET THIS HAPPEN... it’s BEEN time to embrace our woman of color #BlackIsBeautiful."

The video garnered millions of views and many commended the 26-year-old for addressing the issue of colorism, which is discrimination based on skin color.

However, things changes after the original model, identified as U.K. model Sultry Shen, took to Instagram to tell her own version of the events that occurred.

“Where is the scene then if @torylanez wanted me so bad?!!! #fakenews," Shen said on her Instagram story, according to Blavity.

The model then went on to defend the directors and describe what was really seen happening in the video.

“Tory asked for both me and the light skinned girl to do solo shoots. When it was her turn, he said cut the video to make it appear as if it had something to do with race," she said, according to East Coast Renaissance. Shen added, "I know the directors very well."

Shen isn't the only one speaking out about the incident. The directors of the music video added their two cents regarding the allegations as well. Capone, half of the directing duo, Capone x Guise, spoke with TMZ and said they would "never allow something as disgusting as what Tory Lanez is portraying."

Capone further defended himself by telling the news outlet that the majority of the work he does features dark-skinned women.

Since conflicting stories have come out, Lanez has defended himself against those who think he staged the event to promote the song.
