Diddy Fight: Sean Combs Arrested, Out On Bail After Alleged Altercation With UCLA Coach Over Son Justin
Update as of 2:13 a.m. EDT: Sean “Diddy” Combs was released from jail late Monday night, the Associated Press reported. According to jail records, Combs posted a bail of $160,000 though police officials said the bail was set at $50,000, AP reported. However, the reason behind the discrepancy remained unclear.
Original story:
Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested after he allegedly got into a fight with the football coach at the University of California, Los Angeles, TMZ Sports reported Monday. His son, Justin Combs, is a defensive back on the team.
The alleged altercation took place at the UCLA athletic facility after the assistant coach was supposedly screaming at Justin on the field, a source told TMZ. Puff Daddy, as he is formerly known, then got into an argument with the coach. Things escalated and the music mogul grabbed the coach, according to the report. The name of the coach was not revealed by the news site.
Diddy, 45, was taken into custody by campus police Monday afternoon and arrested for assault. He is still in custody at the campus jail.
Even though he’s apparently locked up, Diddy took to Instagram to promote his clothing line Sean Jean at 4 p.m. EDT Monday. He shared pictures of shorts in one photo and an inspiration quote in another.
“The secret to success is consistency,” the unattributed quote read. The image garnered more than 20,000 likes from his 4.8 million followers.
Though he tried to endorse his fashion line and share positive words, some of Diddy's fans already had caught wind of his arrest. “Just heard you were arrested. I'm rooting for you don't stress keep your chin up!” one person wrote. “Stop fronting Diddy we know you ucla campus jail …” another added.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
