Diem Brown Dies: MTV ‘The Challenge’ Star Passes Away At 32 After Third Battle With Cancer
Diem Brown, a longtime staple on MTV's long-running reality competition series "The Challenge," has passed away following her most recent battle with cancer, People magazine is reporting. She was 32.
Diem had been battling stomach and colon cancer since August. According to a report from Ashley's Reality Roundup, she was filming "Battles of the Exes 2" alongside her on-again, off-again boyfriend Chris "CT" Tamburello over the summer when she "collapsed" onset. After being airlifted to a hospital in New York, her diagnosis was revealed. Last month, Diem told People that her cancer had traveled to her liver and lymph nodes.
She was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2006 just weeks prior to her first appearance on the MTV series "Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Fresh Meat." In 2012, her cancer returned and was she was forced to have her ovaries removed. In February 2013, she announced she was cancer-free after a long bout of chemotherapy.
Diem last updated fans on her condition via social media Tuesday, telling her followers that she believed her doctors have "seemingly given up" and asking for prayers.
