Digital Game Sales Reach $6.1 Billion In August According To SuperData Research
Digital games continue to be a hot trend, as digital game sales reached $6.1 billion in August, according to intelligence firm SuperData Research. Over a year, digital game sales have gone up 11 percent. Some of the top games in August included Clash of Clans, Overwatch, League of Legends, No Man’s Sky and Pokemon Go.
SuperData analyst and chief executive officer Joost van Dreunen said in a statement “A bath of successful release across console, PC, and mobile drove double-digit year-over-year gains in market growth.”
Other games like Call of Duty has helped digital console products grow to 16 percent year-over-year to $399 million. When it comes to PC games, World of Warcraft’s latest expansion helped fuel digital PC sales to 21 percent to $401 million.
The only games have experienced any decline are premium MMOs and social games on Facebook, which have gone down 4 percent to $226 million.

Top games on PC: League of Legends, World of Warcraft, Crossfire, Dungeon Fighter Online, Overwatch, No Man’s Sky, World of Tanks, DOTA 2, Fantasy Westward Journey Online II and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
Top games for the console: Call of Duty: Black Ops III, No Man’s Sky. Grand Theft Auto V, FIFA 16, Madden NFL17, Tom Clancy’s The Division, Overwatch, Star Wars: Battlefront, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Fallout 4.
Top mobile games: Pokemon Go, Monster Strike, Mobile Strike, Clash of Clans, Game of War: Fire Age, Fantasy Westward Journey, Puzzle & Dragons, Clash Royale, Candy Crush Saga and Clash of Kings.
