The magic of Disney is once again returning this holiday season with the 2021 return of the “Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade,” after a re-imagined version of the event took place instead of the traditional parade in 2020.

While some COVID-19 safety protocols are still in place and might be visible during the pre-taped parade, which took place down Main Street USA in Florida’s Magic Kingdom Park, according to an ABC press release, the magic is back and bigger than ever, especially as the park continues celebrating its 50-year anniversary. The excitement starts with the spirit being brought by this year’s co-hosts, Derek and Julianne Hough. The siblings will share sneak peeks and highlights from upcoming Disney projects and will be joined from the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California by Trevor Jackson and Sherry Cola.

Viewers will get some special Disney Parks sneak peeks, including “Star Wars”: Galactic Starcruiser, which will open at Walt Disney World on March 1, 2022, as well as a look at the all-new Disney Wish ship from the Disney Cruise Line. There will also be exclusive looks at Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto” and Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story.”

Among the performers who will be spreading good cheer with a mix of performers are the siblings with “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” and Jimmie Allen with a performance of “White Christmas.” Kristen Chenoweth and Darren Criss also join in the fun with performances of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Christmas Dance,” respectively.

In addition, Meg Donnelly will perform “Jingle Bell Rock,” Brett Eldredge will sing “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” Norah Jones will share a rendition of “Run Rudolph Run” and Pentatonix will perform “I Saw Three Ships.” Closing out the list of performers is Gwen Stefani, who will sing “Cheer for the Elves.”

Those planning to watch the special from home can do so when it airs on Saturday, Dec. 25, beginning at 10 a.m. EST on ABC. Those who do not have access to a TV but do have a cable subscription can also watch the special live from any computer or smart device by the network’s own live stream, available through their Live TV feature.
