A 19-year-old Florida man is facing a third-degree felony battery charge for attacking a security guard after taking LSD at Disney World.

The recently released sheriff’s report revealed the incident took place on Oct. 25 in the middle of the afternoon at Animal Kingdom’s DinoLand U.S.A., according to the Orlando Sentinel.

James Arvid was arrested following what was believed to be a drug-induced rage in which he tackled the security guard from behind and put him in a headlock.

Although Arvid held the guard down, the Disney employee was able to radio for help during the attack. Eventually, park guests noticed the confrontation and subdued Arvid until authorities arrived.

The guard suffered two cuts to the elbow but was not seriously injured.

Arvid was placed on a stretcher and taken to the hospital where he later told a nurse, “I took LSD and tried to kill someone.”

Although Arvid could not remember much of what unfolded, a deputy sheriff described the teen as “bloody, sweating profusely, non-responsive to commands, and compulsively kicking his legs,” at the time of his arrest.

“We do not tolerate violence of any kind on our property and appreciate those, including the Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies, who quickly came to the aid of this cast member,” Erica Ettori, a spokeswoman for Disney, said in a statement.

This isn’t the first time a Disney theme park has dealt with a customer on LSD. In September 2019, a 32-yea-old Swiss tourist took LSD during a visit to Disneyland Paris. The man, who fell into a man-made lake in Adventureland, faced narcotics charges.
