Comedian D.L. Hughley collapsed while performing onstage in the middle of his stand-up show at Zanies Comedy Club in Nashville Friday night. The 57-year-old actor, political commentator and radio host was carried offstage by two people and rushed to a nearby hospital in an ambulance.

A video of Hughley passing out was shared on Twitter by one of the attendees of the show. The video shows Hughley's speech beginning to slur while telling a joke moments before the collapse.

A representative for the comedian told ET and Variety that he was “suffering from exhaustion after all the week’s work and travel” and that he “was kept overnight at the hospital for tests under doctor’s orders.” In a later update Saturday morning, his representative said that he was feeling better.

“He is awake and feeling better, and wishes to thank everyone for the very kind prayers and thoughts," his representative reportedly said.

Hughley was performing in Nashville as part of a four-day gig and was set to perform at a five-day gig in Huntsville, Alabama, starting June 26, followed by shows in Pennsylvania and Arizona. It remains unclear as of late Saturday if the shows will be canceled or rescheduled.
