“Do You Take This Man” will also see a group of friends gathering together one day before the would-be couple’s wedding. But their celebration comes to an end when a long-lost friend arrives to reunite with them. The group has to figure out ways to navigate through the challenges that will come their way. The cast of “Do You Take This Man” also includes Alyson Hannigan, Lee Garlington, Thomas Dekker, Mackenzie Astin, Marla Sokoloff, Alona Hal, Hutchi Hancock and Sam Anderson.
While speaking with the publication, producer Eric Kops said that the film’s release is very timely. “The Supreme Court’s decision on marriage equality came down on the last day of filming. With the recent shift in political climate, the story is as timely as ever,” he said.
A poster for the upcoming gay movie has also been released. On top of the poster are the couple’s six friends who are expected to make an impact in the story. In the middle part of the poster is the couple hugging each other while sitting on their bed. “Do You Take This Man” is directed by Joshua Tunick.
Meanwhile, “Do You Take This Man” first had its world premiere at the Outfest in July 2016. The Hollywood Reporter’s Stephen Farber praised the film at the time and commended the strong ensemble cast which was led by Rapp. However, the writer also dubbed Bannett’s acting as “less accomplished” compared to Rapp and said that the overall drama of the film was weak. Luckily, the supporting cast helped boost the story and made it somewhat watchable.
