A doctor in Australia who filmed performing surgical procedures on his patients and shared the videos on TikTok has been barred from practicing any surgeries, officials said.

Dr. Daniel Aronov, an Australian cosmetic surgeon who has a huge TikTok fan following has been banned by the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPA) after several patients complained against him for filming TikTok videos midway through cosmetic surgeries, Republic World reported.

Aronov, who had over 13 million followers on TikTok, not only shared several snippets of the procedures but also used the platform to discuss nuances about the cosmetic operations he performed. He often took breaks midway from work to perform short dance segments for his followers on TikTok, an investigation revealed.

The investigations began after one of Aronov's patients, identified by her first name Jackie, raised a complaint against him for a botched chin surgery that left her in pain. She accused Aronov of stopping midway between her surgery to check on his TikTok filming. "He's in the middle of surgery and he is stopping, checking the video, then saying no I don't want that, cut that out, do it again," Jackie said, as reported by LadBible.

Aronov's patient identified as Donna Patterson, who underwent a breast liposuction procedure at Dr. Daniel Lanzer's clinic in Melbourne complained that two years after the procedure she was left with excruciating pain in her chest. Patterson said she had to undergo corrective surgery later. Another unidentified patient complained that Aronov posted videos of her surgical procedures on social media without her consent.

The allegations against Aronov and Dr. Lanzer's clinic were first probed in a joint investigation documentary "Four Corners" by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, along with The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age. After the documentary was aired, AHPA started an independent investigation.

Aronov deleted his social media accounts including TikTok and Instagram around two weeks ago. He has also taken down all the social media posts related to surgical procedures. He has been ordered not to perform any surgical procedures and can only treat patients as a general practitioner under strict supervision.
