Does Billy Ray Cyrus Prefer Miley To Be With Liam Hemsworth Or Cody Simpson?

A father usually wants what’s best for his daughter and Billy Ray Cyrus is no different. According to Celebrity Insider, a source has revealed how Miley Cyrus’ current boyfriend, Cody Simpson, compares to Miley’s ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, in her father’s eyes.

“Billy Ray basically thinks Cody’s this poor imitation of Liam Hemsworth, whom he adored,” the source told the outlet. “They always had a great time together, and he was devastated by their divorce. Billy Ray will give anyone a chance, but he thinks Miley traded down with this guy, and he’s told her so.”

As Cosmopolitan reports, Miley and Simpson have been dating for around five months and have already gotten matching tattoos. The two have spent several special occasions together, including Miley’s 27th birthday, Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Their romance comes after Hemsworth and the “Wrecking Ball” singer announced their split in August 2019, Harper’s Bazaar reports.

Although her father reportedly prefers Hemsworth, Miley seems to completely disagree. During a 2019 live stream, where Miley and Simpson answered viewers’ questions about their relationship, the “Hannah Montanna” star seemed to be making a few comparisons of her own.

"There are good men out there, guys, don't give up,” said Miley, who was spotted getting cozy with Brody Jenner’s ex, Kaitlynn Carter, following her split from Hemsworth. “I always thought I had to be gay because I thought all guys were evil, but it's not true. There are good people out there that just happen to have [penises]. I've only ever met one, and he's on this live."

The source that spoke with Celebrity Insider has confirmed that Miley’s feelings for Simpson haven’t changed despite Billy Ray’s opinion of him.

“She loves Cody and his silly sense of humor, and if her dad doesn’t like him, that’s his problem,” the source added.
