Does Drake Have A New Girlfriend? Rapper And Rosalyn Gold-Onwude Fuel Dating Rumors

Drake caused quite a stir on Monday night when he arrived at the NBA Awards with a certain lady on his arm. The “More Life” artist had fans speculating whether he was introducing a new girlfriend to the world when he posed with NBC sports reporter Rosalyn Gold-Onwude on the red carpet of the ceremony.

Despite the sweet photos and time the two spent together before entering the venue in New York City, the 30-year-old rapper is still single. A source told E! News that Drake and Gold-Onwude, who has been a sideline broadcaster for the Golden State Warriors since 2014, are actually “casual friends” and have never pursued a romance with one another.

In 2015, Drake hinted at their friendship when he shared a flirty photo of himself and Gold-Onwude on Instagram. “When the post game makes you forget about what happened during the actual game @rosgo21,” he captioned the photo.

Following the NBA Award show, the “Fake Love” rapper shared a photo from the evening of himself and the reporter. “My stunning date for the evening,” he captioned the photo.

“He always thought she was beautiful. She is a very down to earth girl. She is his type! Drake treated her like a lady the whole time they were out Monday night,” an insider told the media outlet.

Although they have been acquainted for some time now, the two never took their relationship past friendship due to timing conflicts.

“They have run into each other many times through the years, but they both had other people they were involved with at that time, so they never took it to a romantic level,” a source said.

Drake was previously romantically linked to Jennifer Lopez but that relationship was short lived. The stars were first rumored to be dating in December 2016 but by February, reports began to surface that the two split.

At the time, a source told Us Weekly the relationship “died down a bit.” Lopez, who is now dating Alex Rodriguez, seemed to diss her hook up with Drake in early June when she referred to the rapper as a “booty call” during one of her shows.

Now that he is single, Drake is more than ready to mingle with other ladies like Gold-Onwude. “They both will be seeing each other again soon. He is open to see what happens, and he thinks she is a really smart and an overall dope girl,” an insider explained.

Drake is also very attracted to the fact that the reporter isn’t obsessed with his fame. “She is not star-struck, and that’s important to him,” the source added.

“He likes how normal she is, and she has her head on straight. They laugh and are enjoying getting to know each other,” the insider continued.

Although the potential romance is in its early stages, Drake and Gold-Onwude seemed more than happy to be in one another’s company during their red carpet appearance. Only time will tell if the two plan on spending making more red carpet appearances together.
