Does Kylie Jenner Want To Be A Pop Star? Tyga Reportedly Helping Reality Star With Music Career
Look out, Ariana Grande. “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” reality star Kylie Jenner reportedly wants to be a pop star. The 17-year-old may be working on an album with rapper and rumored boyfriend Tyga, who is known for hit songs such as “Faded,” “Bubble Butt” and “Make It Nasty.”
"She's secretly working on an album that he is producing," a source told Us Weekly, as reported by the Daily Mail Wednesday. Kylie was recorded singing in one of her Snapchat videos in May, though some fans speculated she was just lip-synching with the help of her friend, singer-songwriter Pia Mia Perez, the Mirror reported on May 20.
"No...I don't know. I like to keep all that to myself, but I am really excited I'm coming out with...a new website this summer,” Kylie told Entertainment Tonight on June 2 when asked if she was planning to pursue a singing career. "I am just super excited about that...everyone wants to see my makeup tips and what I do with my hair and this and that."
One of Kylie's half sisters, Kim Kardashian West, attempted to break into the music scene in 2011 with "Jam (Turn It Up)." The song's negative reviews caused the reality star to regret recording it.
Tyga, 25, and Kylie are believed to have been together since September, but the two have not confirmed their relationship. While Tyga is reportedly helping Kylie write the rumored album, a source told People magazine on May 21 that a few members of her family "are worried” about the Compton-born rapper’s influence. Tyga, whose real name is Michael Ray Nguyen-Stevenson, has friends that are “enablers,” the insider said. "That makes her mom the most nervous. She doesn't want Kylie getting off track."
Tyga has a son, King Cairo, with model and ex-girlfriend Blac Chyna.
