Dog Found With Metal Wire Tied Around Stomach, 'Almost Severing' It
In a case of animal cruelty, a dog was found with metal wire tightly bound around its stomach at a supermarket in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, on Saturday.
In a Facebook post, the Malaysia Animal Association, a non-profit organization, said the rescuers arrived at the scene early Saturday and spent the entire day trying to cut off the wire without it suffering. After the wire was cut off, the canine was immediately rushed to an animal hospital where it underwent an emergency surgery that lasted for hours. The dog was listed stable after the surgery.
According to the post, the wire had inflicted deep wounds and torn into parts of the dog’s stomach, "almost severing it." The canine’s genitals too were squeezed out due to the pressure from the wiring. According to local reports, the canine was abused for over a year. However, no police complaint was filed.
Meanwhile, the organization thanked the rescue team for their efforts in saving the canine.
“We are grateful to Veterinary Doctor Dr Alia Azri and his aide, Nor Intan Izaidah of the Negeri Sembilan Putra Veterinary Clinic who also helped rescue the animal,” the association said.
The association will be looking after the dog for the next few months, including its treatment and sterilization, which will cost around $700. In the Facebook post, the association asked for public help.
