Don Jr., Ivanka, Eric Trump May Be Indicted For Dad's Crimes: Cohen

Donald Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen has hinted that other people in the ex-president’s orbit could be prosecuted for hush money payments and crimes related to Trump.

During an appearance on “CNN Newsroom” with host Alisyn Camerota on Monday just hours after he was released from house arrest, Cohen said Trump’s three eldest children — Eric, Ivanka and Don Jr.— will likely also be indicted over hush-money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels and model Karen McDougal who alleged they had extramarital affairs with Trump.

“I will not be the only one,” he told Camerota. “Eric Trump was involved, obviously Allen Weisselberg, who is already under indictment, Don Jr., Ivanka.”

“There were a slew of people that were involved in this. I was certainly not alone. This wasn’t a one-on-one conversation with Donald. It was a much bigger group. Let’s just leave it at that,” he said.

Cohen’s release comes three years after the FBI raided his home, office and hotel room in New York in April 2018. He was arrested and sentenced in December that year after he pleaded guilty to nine federal crimes, including tax fraud, lying to Congress and campaign finance violations for making the hush-money payments to Daniels and McDougal.

When he pleaded guilty, Cohen accused Trump of facilitating the payoffs. He was disbarred in New York after he was convicted. His sentence was shortened by approximately half a year due to good behavior.

Cohen, who finished his sentence Monday, has said that he will continue to assist any ongoing investigations into Trump and his inner circle, including a probe launched by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office into the Trump Organization and its chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg, who was arrested and charged with an array of alleged tax-related crimes, according to an indictment.

Cohen also blasted Trump for evading taxes in September 2020, claiming he paid $3 million in taxes to the IRS when the former president only paid $750 and zero in prior years.

"So if I went to jail for 36 months on tax evasion, which probably should have been tax omission, Donald Trump should do 360 years, based upon the numbers," Cohen said.

Cohen was released from prison in May 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. He was later taken into custody again after he rejected many of the conditions required for him to transition to home confinement. He was re-released to home confinement in July 2020. He has since published a book, launched a podcast, and met with Kanye West.
