President Donald Trump attacked the press for the bad coverage and fake news.
The POTUS lashed out at the media on Wednesday during a press conference in Davos, Switzerland. The businessman-turned-politician didn’t hold back when he aired his complaints about the media’s manner of reporting these days.
“The press is so dishonest, so corrupt. I read it all the time. I don’t mind bad stories. I deserve bad stories sometimes. But when I do something great or good, let it be written good,” Trump said.
“The corruption in the media, ace call it the fake news media is unbelievable and hopefully everybody is going to sort of learn a lesson. People got Pulitzer prizes for their coverage of me. And it turned out they were totally wrong.”
Trump also named Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh who didn’t get Pulitzer prizes but got their reports right. According to the president, the Russian hoax was terrible so as the dossier which he described as a “phony deal” paid by Hillary Clinton and the DNC.
Trump added that those things were a “takedown attempt” at the sitting president of the United States but “we caught them.” Trump’s statement sparked various reactions from the netizens.
One netizen wasn’t happy about Trump’s statement because he is already in Davos but he is still making things “all about him.” Meanwhile, another described what the POTUS did embarrassing while some just laughed it off. One also said that Trump’s speech was crazy.
"Terrifying that he is potus. Just terrifying,” one commented.
In related news, Trump was reportedly not happy with his daughter Ivanka Trump’s choice of husband. The president wasn’t pleased when he learned that the first daughter was marrying Jared Kushner, a Jew. However, he was more upset when Ivanka converted to Orthodox Judaism.
According to Andrea Bernstein in her book “American Oligarchs: The Kushners, the Trumps, and the Marriage of Money and Power,” at one point, Trump asked Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, why his daughter couldn’t just have married Tom Brady. The POTUS even allegedly said that Kushner was just half the size of Brady’s arm.
