KEY POINTS

  • Donald Trump appeared to have low-stamina during Saturday's press conference
  • The POTUS spoke incoherently on multiple occasions during his press conference
  • Donald Trump was criticized for simply repeating the things that he already said before at Saturday's press conference

Donald Trump spoke at another coronavirus press conference on Saturday at the White House and it has become more noticeable how tired the POTUS is.

Throughout the past couple of weeks, the president has been dealing with backlash from the way he downplayed coronavirus and for calling it a hoax. More recently, Trump claimed that the FDA approved two possible coronavirus drugs when they didn’t and he was lambasted for his misleading statements.

Journalist Aaron Rupar uploaded a video of Trump trying to read something off of a piece of paper. But when he opens his mouth, none of the words he uttered could be understood. It also seemed as though the POTUS was speaking in tongues.

On Twitter, netizens couldn’t help but notice how Trump struggled to pronounce the words from his speech and to construct a coherent one-liner.

“The guy in the middle with a blue tie seems to have had too much to drink. Babbling incoherently,” Twitter user @kbartness said.

“I think Trump’s aides tried to phonetically spell it out for him and still couldn’t do it. @realDonaldTrump said,” Twitter user @CJNWrites said.

“Sounds like a first-grader trying to read aloud. At which time every kid in the classroom snickers at him and the teacher scolds the kids for being mean!” Twitter user @NancyCushman said.

“Ok, seriously, that was clearly either an inability to read or an inability to see the word, but does anyone know what he was supposed to say?” Twitter user @jobetta said.

Meanwhile, Political Flare journalist Andrea Jefferson claimed that the POTUS looked as though he had low-stamina during Saturday’s press conference. Trump also held on to the podium as though he would fall off if he didn’t.

Melania Trump’s husband was also criticized Politicus USA boss Sarah Reese Jones. She said that everything that the POTUS said at last weekend’s conference was a repeat of what he had already said days earlier.

“Trump is repeating his announcements from yesterday, as it is clear that there is no point to this briefing. Trump has still not talked about the medical crisis in this country,” she tweeted.
