  • Donald Trump engaged in high-risk reading during his speech in India
  • The POTUS struggled to pronounce several names during his speech
  • Donald Trump was mocked for mispronouncing a slew of words during his speech in India

Donald Trump’s recent speech in India paved the way for his critics to speculate about his reading and speaking abilities.

On Monday, the POTUS addressed thousands of people by mentioning the names of two famous Indian sportsmen. However, Melania Trump’s husband struggled to pronounce their names properly.

“Your people cheer on some of the greatest cricket players from Sachin Tendulkar to Virat Kohli, the greatest in the world,” he said.

Based on the POTUS’ mispronunciation, some critics suggested that he’s not really a huge cricket fan. They also made fun of the way Trump pronounced Sachin as Soochin.

“Soochin Tendolkar,” Twitter user @Anis_khan007 wrote alongside a laughing emoji.

“Soochin…” Twitter user @cal_howis said.

“He surely has tried hard!” Twitter user @crazzyshubh16 said.

“Would pay to see the pronunciation of Warnakulasuriya Patabendige Ushantha Joseph Chaminda Vaas,” Twitter user @Kyle_Frencham wrote.

Journalist Aaron Rupar described Trump’s reading and speech in India as high-risk. After all, he committed a slew of mistakes. Trump’s critics couldn’t help but agree with Rupar.

“Public speaking, reading, writing, and kindergarten math have never been his strongest traits…” Twitter user @ElpopGolf said.

“That comically labored attempt at over-enunciation sounds like the guy with three double scotches under his belt trying to tell the cop who pulled him over where he lives,” Twitter user @bluestatedon said.

“Pretty sure, whenever he reads or speaks it’s high-risk,” Twitter user @pol1tically said.

“If I was the speechwriter/teleprompter operator, this might be fun: ‘ How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? He would chuck, he would, as much as he could, and chuck as much wood as a woodchuck would if a woodchuck could chuck wood,’” Twitter user @Spacejunkie4 joked.

Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time that Trump mispronounced some words while speaking in public. Just recently, he struggled to say “corrupt,” “overdose,” “witch,” “NAFTA,” and more.

The POTUS’s difficulty in pronunciation has also led netizens and experts to speculate on the possibility of him suffering from mental health problems.
